Celtic have already strengthened their squad considerably in the January transfer window, bringing in the likes of Daizen Maeda, Reo Hatate, Yosuke Ideguchi and Johnny Kenny. Most fans would have been delighted at the prospect of four new signings this month, but it has been suggested the club may be looking to sign more players.
Loan deals could be a good idea for Celtic at this stage. After signing so many players in the last two transfer windows, one has to feel that they may not be in a position to jump on more signings just yet.
There are several players at top Premier League clubs who are currently seeking first-team minutes and could be available on loan.
So, there’s no harm in Celtic trying to bring in one or more this January, to further bolster their title challenge.
3 Premier League players Celtic should try to sign on loan
Here are three Premier League players Celtic should try to sign on loan to bolster their Premiership title challenge:
Amad, Manchester United
Amad arrived with high expectations at Manchester United last season and he has delivered some remarkable performances for his youngsters so far. But at senior level, he hasn’t played much.
According to statistics from transfer market, Amad has made 9 appearances for Manchester United so far, scoring and assisting once each. It should, however, be pointed out that this goal came against AC Milan in the Europa League last season.
Manchester United are believed to be ready to send him on loan this month to a club where he can play regular football. And there is no doubt that Celtic would need another right-winger at this stage.
If Celtic are able to bring in Amad it would be seen as a major blow for them, although the Red Devils are believed to be prioritizing a Championship loan for the Ivory Coast international.
