BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FL – Brevard County Tax Collector Lisa Cullen is the recipient of the Eastern Florida State College Foundation’s 2022 Distinguished Alumni Award for community leadership.
“Lisa exemplifies the best of EFSC in its service to Space Coast residents and strong support for our students,” said Cindy Kane, Executive Director of Development and Strategic Engagement for the EFSC Foundation.
“This award highlights her work and accomplishments, and we are honored to call her a great friend of the college.”
The nominators described Cullen as a dedicated public servant and “a loyal steward of taxpayers’ money, true to her constitutional oath and a beacon of reliability in Brevard County.”
Cullen was elected to the position in 2008 and was reelected unopposed in 2012, 2016 and 2020. She manages a team of 174 employees in seven branches.
She attended Brevard Community College, the forerunner of EFSC, and UCF where she earned a degree in accounting and finance.
Cullen has been active in several organizations, including president of the Florida Tax Collectors Association in 2014.

She also served on the board of the EFSC Foundation from 2012 to 2018, playing an important role in fundraising for scholarships.
The EFSC Foundation will begin accepting applications for the Distinguished Alumni Award 2023 in July.
