“Another day at the office.”
This is the chilling moment a hitman counted the $10,000 he had just been paid to murder a single mother, Florida prosecutors say.
Javon Carter is accused of shooting dead TSA agent Le’Shonte Jones, 24, in front of his 3-year-old daughter, who was also injured in the shooting, on May 3 last year.
On Wednesday, the Miami-Dade State’s Attorney’s Office released the video, which they say police found on his phone:

The 35-second clip shows the 29-year-old sitting in a car, casually counting stacks of hundred dollar bills, as he remarks, “Another day at the office.”
Less than two hours earlier, investigators say, Carter had sat in a rental car near Jones’ apartment, waiting for her to drive home after picking up her daughter. He ran after them and shot them multiple times, in broad daylight, at the bottom of the stairs leading to their home, according to the arrest warrant.
Prosecutors say the money was paid to her by hairstylist Jasmine Martinez, 33, who had a long-standing grudge against Jones, who once dated her ex-boyfriend.
They say Martinez got the money by fraudulently applying for $15,000 in PPP Loans – the government’s Paycheck Protection Program to help struggling businesses stay afloat during the Covid pandemic.
Carter, Martinez and another inmate accused of helping to organize the hit – Romiel Robinson, who is one of Martinez’s boyfriends – have all been charged with first-degree murder. All three face the death penalty if convicted.
The arrest warrant shows that Robinson called the other two several times from prison, discussing “a jersey that Carter wants him to give him for his birthday with the number on it.”

Robinson told Carter that the jersey with the number 15 “costs too much”, asking if he could get one with the number 10 instead, according to the warrant; Carter replied “he’s usually 20 to 25”.
Martinez had a history of alleged attacks on Jones before she was killed, according to the Miami Herald.
In April 2016, she was arrested on battery charges after being charged with punching Jones, who was dating her ex-boyfriend at the time. The case was eventually dropped.
In November 2018, Martinez was arrested for beating Jones yet again; Miami-Dade officers who were at the scene investigating another crime saw her punch the victim in the head with a clenched fist.
Then, in February 2020, while Jones was in a courthouse parking lot preparing to testify in the 2018 assault case, she was allegedly attacked and robbed by two suspects — Kelly Nelson and Keyanu Queen. During this affair, it emerged that Nelson was dating Martinez. Martinez has not been charged in this incident.
In March 2021, Jones told police she was being harassed and offered money not to testify in a robbery case involving Nelson and Queen.
On April 9, 2021, Jones testified anyway. 24 days later, she is murdered.
